What is the CAAZ?
The Centre d’Arts & Artistes-Zan (CAAZ) is a non-profit multidisciplinary arts center based in the town of Stanstead, Quebec. More than just a gallery, it is a vibrant community-driven, ethno-cultural space dedicated to showcasing and supporting the work of visual artists, artisans, and creators from diverse backgrounds across Quebec. As an intercultural and interdisciplinary arts hub, the CAAZ is deeply rooted in values of inclusion, diversity, and artistic excellence.
True to its mission, the organization is led by women from ethnocultural communities themselves—artists and cultural workers who reflect the very essence of the center's purpose.

A Home for Art, Craft, and Cultural Exchange
For over eighteen years, CAAZ has been a dynamic force in the cultural scene, celebrating the uniqueness and talent of Quebec’s creators.
It offers a professional platform for visual arts, decorative arts, and fine crafts, giving artists and artisans a major showcase for their work through exhibitions, vernissages, a sales boutique, and a wide range of cultural activities.
At CAAZ, each artist's voice is valued, each creation honored, and the public is invited to engage, discover, and connect.

CAAZ is Undeniably Unique- A Rare Gem - Authentic,Vibrant-Unrepeatable and Unforgettable.
For Artists, By Artists
The CAAZ was created by artists, for artists, as a means to uplift and recognize the incredible richness of Quebec’s creative communities. Through its inclusive programming and commitment to citizen participation, it fosters deeper appreciation for cultural expression, artistic labor, and the power of diverse perspectives.
A Heritage Site with a Cultural Soul
The CAAZ is now proudly housed at 10 Phelps Street in Stanstead, in a historic building recognized by the Stanstead Historical Society.
Designed in Neo-Romanesque and Baroque style under architect David Ewart II during Canada’s Public Works era, the building has served many purposes over the last century—from Canadian customs and the RCMP office, to the former Rock Island post office, just steps away from the U.S. border.
Though time has passed, its architectural beauty remains nearly unchanged—a living heritage site now dedicated to the arts.
